Freshly Picked:
Pond Pup

Those that have talked to me for more than two seconds know this about me: I’m abrasive, a vegan and I love dogs. My call to veganism stemmed from my love of all animals but I especially love dogs. Animals do not have a voice so it’s my personal responsibility to be their advocate.

All my dogs have been rescues. Wrinkles was a “surprise.” His parents were not spayed or neutered. The dog owners scrambled to find the puppies a good home and he’s been with us since he was 6 weeks old. Rocky was found on February 6, 2009, running wildly at the Wrigley Village Marketplace and yesterday I found this little guy.

Iggy wandered into the Long Beach City College horticulture unit. He leaned into the pond to take a drink and fell in. I ran over to him. He crawled out of the pond and jumped into my arms and heart.

He was dehydrated, starving and flea infested. I rushed him home, fed him and took him to the groomers.

He’s sweeter than stevia and he’s a genius. Please take a cue from Bob Barker; spay and neuter your pets and if you are searching for man’s best friend please consider adoption first.

Aww, so you’re keeping him? Too cute! What do Wrinkles and Rocky think of Iggy?

    ADORABLE!
I completely agree with getting your pets spayed/neutered. And while I would advocate adoption as a wonderful option for some, I don’t agree that it is the right decision for everybody. The main thing is get make sure your pets are spayed/neutered. That is so important I will repeat it again. Please be a responsible pet owner and spay/neuter your companion animals. Oh, and congratulations on your new friend!

He is so cute! Have you called the pound to make sure someone isn’t looking for him? All my pets have been rescues too. I appreciate the message you are giving :D
