Freshly Picked:
The Day I Weighed 145 Lbs

Forget New Year resolutions it’s time for an intervention. For the first time in a month I headed to the gym bright and early. Forty-five minutes later and after a series of stints on various apparatus I sought out my nemesis the scale. I don’t own one of my own and now I know why. The number 145 stared back at me. A strategy is needed ASAP.

I love food and have a notorious sweet tooth and not to mention that I love to cook. However I haven’t been making the best choices. So instead of lamenting the snug fit of my 7 jeans I’ve decided to take action.

Judita knows best so I’m implementing a raw diet stat. Way back when I was on top of my game, 30 lbs lighter, and a kick boxing ninja I used to log every meal consumed and every minute exercised. I’ll be doing the same but through a series of blog posts and candid videos and here’s the first. I’m not going to bothering primping. This is me; sans smoke and mirrors.

I’m not trying to perpetuate an unrealistic perception of body image. This ain’t no Biggest Loser either. No gnarly snake oil weight loss magic pills taken here; just healthy garden fresh food and exercise. I’m sharing my personal and honest journey and if you’re on a similar path you’ve got a buddy to lean on.

I am going to start the same journey but after New Year. I know myself too well to think I can successfully start this with Christmas 2 days away lol. So, I am going to enjoy Christmas and New Year, see my daughter back away to university, and then begin my healthier eating regime, with nothing to sabotage me :-) I will be following your progress and mentally cheering you on.

I’m all for being a healthy “kick boxing ninja” and all that, but I hope you realize you’re gorgeous as is. Just wanted to throw that out there (as someone who occasionally and unhealthily obsesses over her belly).

Rock on. 2010 is going to be awesome – I can’t wait to see your journey. I personally find myself in a better mood when I work out. I feel on top of the world right now! Best of luck to you Adriana. Hugs.

Please continue to post details and inspiration! My height & weight are right around the same as yours and my goals are the same. Even though I don’t look bad, I definitely hit a panic when I see a “140″ come across my scale.

I wish I looked as gorgeous as you do raw and “sans smoke and mirrors”, sheesh.

I saw you doing some gardening tips (toilet paper rolls, maybe?) on a morning show awhile back and just thought to look you up – glad I did!
